Ross has NSW, WA and TAS Mine Manager’s qualifications. As a consultant, Ross specialises in risk based business reviews and insurance risk surveys.

Mark McCamley Mark McCamley

Mark has QLD and NSW Mine Manager’s qualifications and 31 years experience in the underground and surface coal mining industry including 5 years as mine manager. Mark has experience in business planning, ventilation engineering and gas management, risk management, safety and training, statutory audits, safety management systems and accident/ incident investigation. Mark is an internationally qualified auditor of Safety and Health Management systems.

Jerry Wallace Jerry Wallace

Jerry has NSW Mine Manager’s qualifications and 40 years of experience in underground coal mining industry with 21 years in senior management roles including 5 years as Operations Manager and Statutory Mine Manager. Highly proactive in Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) performance, systems development and implementation. Experience includes business planning, safety and training, CH4 management, longwall operations, strata management, risk management, accident/incident investigation, Global Assurance, Core Hazard and statutory audits, interaction with Local, State and Federal Government Agencies and Human Resources management.

Paul Kraus Paul Kraus

Paul has a degree in Mining Engineering and 28 years experience in the underground coal mining industry. Paul is a registered Professional Engineer-State of Ohio and Illinois and the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as a Certified Mine Manager State of Illinois, Certified Mine Foreman State of Ohio and Illinois and Commonwealth of Kentucky. Paul is a Member Society of Mining Engineers and Executive Board Member of the Illinois Coal Association (ICA).

Darren Loftas Darren Loftas

Darren is a Chartered Mining Engineer and has Mine Manager experience in surface and underground hard rock and industrial mineral mining operations. Darren has experience in the planning and execution of capital projects and has worked at Director level within international groups deploying World Class safety, operating and maintenance strategies in both surface and underground operations. Darren is a qualified instructor and coach in lean and continuous improvement tools and techniques. Darren has worked in the mining industry for 27 years.

Paul Tutin Paul Tutin

Paul has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), Master of Engineering Science (Engineering Management) and is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and a Member Institute of Metals and Materials Australia Ltd. For the past 20 years Paul has managed and / or carried out mechanical engineering and testing of materials, strain gauging, failure analysis, corrosion investigations and vibration analysis. Paul has provided services to industries including power generation, mining, oil / gas, transportation, aviation, civil engineering and building.

Greg Nieuwenhuis Greg Nieuwenhuis

Greg holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate in both QLD and NSW and has been involved in the mining industry for 37 years. He has extensive experience in underground coal mining, and has been involved in Development, Pillar Extraction and Longwalling, both operationally and in mine design through various feasibility studies. He has held many Senior Management roles in both mining, contract and business areas and has mining qualifications including Site Senior Executive, Mine Manager Certificate, Ventilation Officer and various risk based qualifications.

Michael Coull Michael Coull

Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree and holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate (NSW). He has experience in the development of health and safety management systems across Australian and International mining industry operations; in the conduct of operational risk assessments for both mining and associated industry clients and in auditing of both safety management and quality management systems. Michael has extensive operational experience in underground coal, including ventilation, gas management and associated monitoring.

Ben Smith Ben Smith

Ben is a mining engineer with 20 years in the mining industry. His qualifications include Internal and Lead Auditor (RABSQA) SAI Global (Quality Management Systems), Graduate Diploma (Mine Ventilation), Master of Mining Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce. He is an experienced and people-focused leader within the mining and other extractive and heavy industries.

Tim Coleman Tim Coleman

Tim has a Degree in Mining Engineering and 39 years’ experience in the coal mining industry, most recently as General Manager responsible for two operating metallurgical coal mines and division staff. Tim has experience in management of surface mine related capital projects , ventilation engineering, due diligence and evaluations of foreign and domestic potential mining properties, consulting related work including surface and underground mine design and property management.

Chris Pecora Chris Pecora

Chris has a degree in Mining Engineering and 15 years of experience in the mining industry. Chris has held a diverse range of technical and operational roles with experience in both surface and underground coal. Chris holds mining qualifications in both the United States and Australia including Underground Foreman (New Mexico, United States) and Open Cut Examiner (New South Wales, Australia). Chris’ background includes varied roles and experience in process safety, statutory inspections, leading incident investigations, contractor management, risk management, formal audits, continuous improvement and varied operational leadership roles.

Kirk Nobis Kirk Nobis

Kirk is a Mining Engineer with 40 years experience in the mining industry. He is experienced in multiple areas of mining. Work includes consulting projects, underground coal mining, risk assessments, productivity improvements, production development/marketing, operations, rail transportation, coal supply/contract administration, and economic analysis. Kirk commenced working with Hawcroft in 2016 on a casual basis.

Andy Birtles Andy Birtles

Andy has more than 35 years in underground and surface mining operations, predominately coal and “soft rock”; but also well versed in metalliferous open pit and mineral sands operations. His consulting work has enabled travel to and assessment of numerous mining operations globally. He holds UK and South African Managers Certificates and recognized Engineer status, and is active in UK and South African professional institutions.

Mike Wood Mike Wood

Mike has been involved in Risk Engineering since 1990 in the Energy, Mining, Pulp & Paper, Petrochemical and most industrial processes. Specialties include account engineering, underwriting and loss prevention engineering, boiler and machinery engineering, fire protection engineering, infrared thermography and development of internal standards for clients. 12 year Marine Engineering to 1st class (Chief Engineer) level.

Mark Mounde Mark Mounde

Mark has over 26 years’ experience in both surface and underground operations in the precious and base metals, coal and industrial mineral industries. Mark is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and is an Associate member of the Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He holds a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency for Fiery mines and holds certifications for metalliferous, fiery and opencast operations.

Mario Lopez Villa Mario Lopez Villa

Mario has 30 years of experience in underground mines and planning, including ventilation engineering, operation of underground metal mines and industrial safety, health & environment. He is a graduate of Mines Nancy, France and commenced with Hawcroft in October 2017.

Alejandro Esquer Medina Alejandro Esquer Medina

Alejandro has 13 years of experience in underground and surface mines with wide experience in maintenance and engineering solutions, development of preventative and predictive maintenance programs across processing plant operations and project management of major projects. He commenced with Hawcroft in April 2018.

Nick has a degree in Information Systems Management and began working with the risk consulting industry in 2003. His background includes the design and development of software utilizing the .NET framework and MSSQL Server, systems administration of Windows-based servers, and management of projects and personnel. Nick specializes in building highly customized web applications that are designed to collect, analyze, and present information according the specific needs of our clients.

Mike Irving Mike Irving

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. In his 10 years of writing software professionally, Mike brings 6 years of experience of writing software and risk management tools for international clients as well as 5 years of experience writing mobile applications. He is a full stack developer and works with Hawcroft to deliver cross-platform experiences to the team and our clients. Mike is an avid fan of programming and spends countless hours researching and mastering new languages and techniques.
